Share the Journey – a walk of solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers
28th April 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
Join members of Caritas and other organisations to ‘Share the Journey’ with refugees and asylum seekers.
On 28 April, people involved in supporting refugees and asylum seekers will hold a walk of witness and solidarity. The walk is a way of publicly affirming solidarity with people across the world forced to flee their country of origin. It also creates a sense of welcome for newcomers in Birmingham.
The walk departs from Cannon Hill Park at 10:00 and ends at St Chad’s Cathedral. The route will go via Birmingham Central Mosque, St Anne’s Church and St Philip’s Cathedral before reaching St Chad’s. The group will stop several times along the route for moments of reflection and prayer. There will also be a time for reflection at the end of the journey.
‘Share the Journey’ has been organised by Birmingham City of Sanctuary, Carrs Lane Lived Community, Hope Projects and St Chad’s Sanctuary. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
