Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage 2021

30th May 2021 - 4th June 2021

Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage 2021Join the Archdiocese of Birmingham for a Virtual Pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Taking place from Sunday 30 May – Friday 4 June, the event is an invitation to make the journey in spirit with people from across the Archdiocese. Everybody is welcome to attend.

Join online at www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/lourdes-pilgrimage.

The virtual pilgrimage has been designed to reflect the physical journey as closely as possible. It aims to bring Lourdes to those who would usually make the physical journey. It also gives people who cannot usually make the pilgrimage the opportunity to take part and experience the event.

The event will begin on 24th May at 3:00 with a Mass from St Chad’s Cathedral, followed by a virtual Marian procession at 8:00. Events will then take place throughout the week, giving an opportunity to unite in prayer.

Each morning, a different part of the Archdiocese will deliver Mass with the exception of Monday when we will join Middlesbrough Diocese. There will be a themed liturgy each day and we will pray the Mysteries of the Rosary throughout the week.

The week will feature torchlight processions and virtual tours of the key sites in and around Lourdes.

On Wednesday, there will be a Mass from Alton Castle focusing on young people who normally join the pilgrimage. And there will be a Virtual Lourdes Concert with music from Jo Boyce and Dan Callow.

For full details, watch an Introduction to the Online Pilgrimage, which explains what will happen during the week and how you can join in. We hope you will join us.

All enquiries should be directed to the pilgrimage office: [email protected].
